Yapi Merkezi is a global leader privately-owned contracting company specializing in railway infrastructure design and construction, rail engineering, manufacture and construction, Track installations, Station construction for urban and mass transit systems, Depots projects and workshops, overhead catenary systems. The company also has experience in electrification, signaling, train control and telecommunication systems.
Yapi Merkezi, founded in 1965, is located in Istanbul, Turkey, as well as branches in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Algeria and Morocco. Since 1998, it has been continuously listed in Engineering News Record's (ENR) annual Top 225 International Contractors List. In the mass transit / light rail category, Yapi Merkezi was ranked 4th largest in the world in 1998, 3rd in 1999 and 7th in 2000.
Through its specialized companies, Yapı Merkezi has realized numerous successful national and international projects within the fields of transportation systems, rail systems, tunnels, bridges, viaducts, industrial and general service buildings. Recently Yapı Merkezi delivered the Dubai Metro Red Line which began full operation on 9th of September 2009. Algerian and Casablanca Railway Systems are among international projects that are currently in progress. The Ankara-Konya High Speed Railway project will become yet another milestone for the Turkish railway network.
In 2012, ARC and Yapi Merkezi formed Yapi Merkezi Saudi Company a joint Venture between the two organizations to address the huge expansion in the railway industry in Saudi Arabia to execute engineering, procurement and construction of railway facilities and railway infrastructure.
ARC and Yapi Merkezi joint ’s collaborative success in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is being realized by the award of the contracts to build the prestigious new station at Medina for the Al Haramain High Speed Railway Project, and the new workshops for the North South Railway at Nariyah.
